All of the work done by AICM Uganda is done under their own management – the supporters in the UK do not prescribe what they should do. They have always been very responsible and have always given direct and accurate account of all the money they spend. Bishop Enoch did not leave the work to his son – he was called away to do duty in the DRC. Timothy kindly agreed to step in as the director. Bishop Enoch is due to retire soon and will then return to Kabale, probably taking an advisory role. This is not a family project – it is a properly run and audited charity that is benefitting over 32,000 people in the area.

does AICM uganda do the work as required by the donors? Are they transparent enough? Why does Bishop Enoch leave the work to his son? Is it a family project or they are using Donor funds?
Reply:Both AICM and FAICM’s accounts are given an annual audit. FAICM (The Friends) are the main, if not the only, source of funds for AICM and the breakdown of that monthly remittance is always sent with it and AICM are expected to honour where all the money is intended for. The audit always confirms that. In that respect, they are completely honest and transparent. However, although we, the Friends, and individual donors can dictate where any money should go, no-one tells AICM how to manage their work other than Timothy, his team and the trustees. We are not here to control them, but to help finance them. Bishop Enoch left the work to his son, because he was sent on promotion to the Congo to help with the church there. Timothy was elected into the post by the trustees and in fact left a better paid job in law to take over the position of Director.
