A Taste of Uganda
November 10th, 2009
On 14 November 2009 between 40 and fifty folk gathered in South Leigh Church near Witney in Oxfordshire to hear about the work of AICM in Uganda and the supporting work of the Friends of AICM in the UK. It was a wild and blustery day, but we were warmly welcomed at the church by local supporters of the Friends and feasted on a superb African style lunch later in the village hall. Before lunch we had the Annual General Meeting of the Friends in the church. After lunch we returned to the church for various presentations about the progress being made in Uganda, including a brief account by Phil Simpson, who visited Kabale with his wife Anne and a group of sixth form students from Rydal Penrhos school in Colwyn Bay. Ugandan crafts, notelets and this year’s AICM Christmas cards were all available for sale. It was a most enjoyable day, and thanks go to the friends from in and around Witney who organised it.
