Meals for Children

Children join the dancingIn order to reduce on the drop out rate of Batwa children out of school due to hunger, the AICM Community Development Programme recently embarked on a strategy of providing porridge for children at the AICM-established Rwamahano and Murubindi Primary Schools.

In June, 400 kgs of maize flour (posho) were purchased and supplied to the two schools. This has encouraged children to continue in school. This initiative needs more support for its sustainability. In that regard, letters requesting support were sent to World Food Programme (WFP), among other local agencies for support.
