Timothy Twikirize

Bishop Enoch Kayeeye and Timothy Twikirize - Father and sonTimothy Twikirize was born in 1980 in Kabale town to Rev. Enoch & Mrs. Phoebe Kayeeye and is the 5th born in a family of six (2 brothers and 3 sisters). He attended Kigezi High School Primary in Kabale town between 1986 and 1993 for his primary education.

Later, he joined Ntare School, Mbarara for secondary education between 1994 and 1999. In 2000, Timothy joined Uganda Christian University (UCU) Mukono (Faculty of Law) where he graduated in 2004 with a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) 2nd class Upper (Honours) degree.

He later joined the Law Development Centre (LDC), Makerere for his postgraduate diploma in legal practice (Bar Course) which he completed in 2005, subsequently upon which he enrolled as an Advocate of the High Court of Uganda and Courts of Judicature.

He carried out his Clerkship with the Ugandan Ministry of Justice  & Constitutional Affairs/ Attorney General’s Chamber under the Directorate of Legal Advisory Services (DLAS). Later he joined private legal practice and served as a Legal Assistant in M/s Kampala Law Attorney’s and later M/s Bakiza & Co. Advocates.

In June 2006, Timothy joined African International Christian Ministry (AICM) where he has served as Executive Director to date.

Other  experiences:

  • In 1996 while at in Senior Two (S. 2) at Ntare School, Timothy accepted the Lord Jesus as his personal Saviour. He later served as Prayer Secretary and Chapel Treasurer under the Scripture Union and as Chairperson of the Red Cross Society.
  • In 1999, while on vacation, Timothy served as a Computer Trainer/ Office Administrator at the AICM Kabale Computer Centre.
  • Between 2000 – 2004 while in Law School at UCU, he served as Speaker of the UCU Law Society where he engaged with and interacted with high profile figures in the Judiciary such as the Chief Justice of Uganda, Justice Benjamin Odoki and Supreme Court Judge Prof. George Kanyeihamba.
  • In 2002, he was trained and served as a Census Enumerator under the Uganda Bureau of Statistics, based in Kabale Municipality during the 2002 Uganda National Census.
  • In 2002, he underwent and completed a specialized computer training course where he graduated with  an International Computer Driving License (ICDL).
  • In October 2006, visited the Association of Chief Executives of Voluntary Organizations (ACEVO) London, UK for their AGM.
  • In  May 2007 attended and participated in the 40th Ordinary Session of the African Commission on Human & People’s Rights in Accra Ghana.
  • In November 2007, attended and participated in the Commonwealth People’s Forum (CPF) under the Commonwealth Heads of States Meeting (CHOGM) held in Kampala, Uganda in which he met, among other dignitaries, HRH Prince Charles of Wales.
  • In March 2008, attended and participated in training on the African Human Rights Framework at the University of Pretoria, South Africa under the auspices of Minority Rights Group International (MRG).
  • In April 2008, was invited and hosted by the Friends of AICM-UK during a visit to United Kingdom during which he preached in several churches and visited several schools with an aim of raising interest on the work of AICM as a Christian Ministry.

Memberships:

  • Timothy is a fully paid up member of African International Christian Ministry (AICM), Uganda Law Society (ULS), the East African Law Society (EALS) and the Association of Chief Executives of Voluntary Organizations (ACEVO).

Hobbies:

  • Sharing the experience of life in Christ Jesus with youths.
  • Research, providing legal assistance to indigent persons, among others.

  • Timothy is single and waiting upon the Lord.
